Trust Your Personal Dentist to Use ADA-Approved Teeth Whitening Strips on Your Teeth
Current procedures in teeth whitening use a bleaching agent with varying concentrations of carbamide peroxide, which is the main ingredient. For in-office procedures in Australia, the Australian Dental Association (ADA) has recently released an interim policy on the issue of dental bleaching agents with more than six percent of the active ingredient. Only licensed dental professionals are allowed to apply these whitening agents on patients’ teeth. Hence, for home use, the whitening products should only contain less than six percent of peroxide compounds. The reason for this is that the association looks at the process as irreversible and must be done after consultation with the dentist.
